As we prepare for the reopening of our fine dining restaurant, Kimball’s Kitchen, we are happy to introduce our Chef de Cuisine, Tyler Powell. Chef Powell gained his experience through a variety of top notch restaurants throughout Louisville, Kentucky.  His most recent experience comes as executive chef of Silver Dollar, El Camino, and St. Charles Exchange. Prior to his work as executive chef he cultivated experience as sous chef of Rivue at The Galt House and 732 Social. Chef Powell also had the opportunity to cook at the local March of Dimes event at Duck Woods this past March where they took home most outstanding presentation for oysters – a variation of what will be seen on the Kimball’s Kitchen menu this season.

Chef Powell is excited to bring good food, new experiences, and new ways to receive flavor into Kimball’s Kitchen this spring. Kimball’s Kitchen is a premier seafood and steak driven fine dining restaurant bringing seasonal, local, and natural foods to the table in the Outer Banks. 90% of our products come from within a 100 mile radius of the property. He looks forward to working in the kitchen alongside his expert team, as well as being able to touch the tables to meet the guests dining throughout the season.

New this season is Sunday Brunch at Kimball’s Kitchen. Chef Powell and his team have worked together create an indulgent brunch menu using the Sanderling core values of S.O.A.L cuisine (sustainable, organic, artisanal, local). Take a look at the menu here.

Chef Powell’s recent move to the Outer Banks is all thanks to his wife and two children and their love for the beach and fresh seafood. A move to the ocean has been long awaited, and they cannot be more thrilled to have the opportunity to begin their new adventures right here on the Outer Banks.
