Here at Sanderling, one of our summer offerings is being able to meet a ranger from Jockey’s Ridge State Park and even become a Dune Ranger complete with a patch and certificate! Jason Brown met with kids of all ages to give them the challenge of becoming a “Dune Ranger” . This program provides an opportunity for young visitors (K-5) to learn more about the State Park right here on the Outer Banks. It’s purpose is to teach environmental awareness and encourage each visitor to be a good steward of our environment. The program teaches about local wildlife and nature on these sand dunes, and gives everyone the chance to enjoy the views of the beautiful Outer Banks.
Did you know that Jockey’s Ridge State Park is the tallest living sand dune on the Atlantic Coast? It’s also a great place for many family fun activities such as flying kites, sightseeing, and viewing outstanding sunsets. It is a must-go place here in the Outer Banks if you’re looking for a unique experience! Jockey’s Ridge is a park unlike any other that creates reason to come back again and again!
The “Meet A Ranger” activity will be held here at Sanderling again on August 2 from 1-2PM – don’t miss out!
